Q: Hi Playground! Do you have any family friendly and affordable hotels and resorts you recommend in Costa Rica? We are hoping to go in March when our kids have 2 weeks off from school for an early Spring Break. Thanks! ~ Kim
Q: We’re heading to Oahu over the summer and would love to find a beachside hotel in Waikiki. Any suggestions? Thanks! ~ FM
A: Hi FM, Hawaii is beach paradise, and Waikiki is among the best known, and most beautiful sandy spots on Oahu. But not all hotels are directly on the beach.
Q: Hi Playground: Do you have any ideas for a sweet 16 trip for late April spring break? It will be four of us: My daughter and her friend and me and the other mom. The girls want somewhere warm with a beach and other kids their age and we’d be there 3-4 nights. The girls are interested in Atlantis, the moms were hoping for something not quite as hectic. ~ Thank you! Shari S.
Q: Hi Playground! I have been looking at travel options for spring break with my family (my kids are 9 and 12), possibly joining a club called Inspirito. In particular, we’ve been looking at Banyan Tree Mayakoba in Riviera Maya, Mexico. Any insights? Thanks ~ Mary T.
Q: Hi Playground! I’m looking to book flights for our family of 5 to the Midwest to see our family for Christmas, and then another to see friends in Texas for Spring Break.
When’s the best time to book to get a deal for Christmas? Should I wait? And do you have any tips on how to get the best price for a flight that has multiple stops? Hoping to go see our friends in Austin for Spring Break and also go to Santa Fe. I’d like to fly into one of those, then on to the other, then back home. Is it way way too early to start looking for airfares for April…Or will they only go up? ~ Bryn H.
Q: Spring break is coming up and I’m dying for a fun getaway for my 12-year-old son and I. We could use 3 or 4 nights in the sun. Is there any place kind of all-inclusive where we can lie by a pool and drink frozen drinks but is not tacky and won’t be overrun with spring breakers? Too much to ask? We will be coming from the west coast. Thanks! — Dawn P.
