Hello summer heat! If you’re looking for a place to take little kids to cool off on hot summer days, you don’t have to travel very far. Just grab a towel and head to one of these cool, watery, and inexpensive Spraygrounds and Splash Pads in New Jersey:
Lyndhurst Spray Park
367 Valley Brook Avenue, Lyndhurst
Open 7 days a week from mid-June through Labor Day, from 10 am – 5 pm each day (weather permitting).
Admission: $2, but you get a $1 refund when you return your wristband.
The spray park is small and fenced in and run by attendants. There is a large snake shaped sprayer and a cute rainbow tunnel of rings with sprayers that the kids go through. There are benches inside the area to sit and towels can be hung on the fences away from the water

The kids will love splashing in this fun waterpark while you enjoy beautiful views of NYC. Grab a seat in an Adirondack chairs and put your tes in the sandy patch and catch some rays. Next to the water fun is a playground and a carousel to enjoy for $1 a spin.
Asbury Splash Park

The Asbury Splash Park is right on the Boardwalk and a fantastic place for family fun off of the beach. Plenty of chairs, spraygrounds, and a huge Tipping Teacup are sure to please. (Have big kids? They’ll love the beaches at Asbury Park, too.)
Dorbrook Recreation Area Sprayground
353 County Rd. 537, Colt’s Neck
Weekdays: 11 am – 7 pm / Weekends: 10 am – 7 pm
This huge sprayground and park was recently renovated and is a fantastic place for summer family fun. Kids will enjoy squirting hoses from the ground, spigots dumping water from above, and plenty of water tables to play at.
Ponderosa Farm Park
1600 Cooper Rd, Scotch Plains
Ponderosa Park, a 20-acre recreational area in Scotch Plains, is perfect for a day out. The biggest attraction there by far is the large spray park with various sprinklers and fountains. In addition to the water play area, there is also a large barn-themed playground structure for ages 5-12, and a separate structure based on a general store design for those ages 2-5. Tip: After your day at the park, cool off at Scoops the Ice Creamery.
