As if you needed another reason to visit Washington D.C. in spring, the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture is testing a new admission policy for the month of April — Walk-Up Wednesdays!

Instead of its usual Timed Passes, on April 4, 11, 18 and 25, visitors who walk up without timed entry passes may enter the museum on a first come first served basis. Note: The museum has already issued passes for the entire month of April. Visitors who have already reserved timed passes will receive priority entry.
The Museum is launching Walk-Up Wednesdays in April as a pilot to test a no-pass entrance policy and determine how best to implement it and still provide a positive visitor experience.
