Product Review: Face Halo is a Travel Essential That Will Have You Rethinking Your Daily Beauty Routine

Face Halo

As someone who has a vanity stocked with cleansers, creams, lotions, face masks, and makeup, travel can put a damper on my skincare and beauty routine. Always on the lookout to simplify my skincare on the road — especially when it requires a 3-1-1 carry on bag — I was excited to try the sample of Face Halo I received from the company to review.

Face Halo is a small microfiber disk that claims to remove dirt, oil and makeup from your skin with just water. No cleanser needed at all!

I was skeptical. Would it really get all my makeup, including my mascara, off? Would it clean my face thoroughly enough that I wouldn’t start getting breakouts?

It did. A few swipes on your face and you’ll see all the makeup and dirt on the disk. I rinsed it and flipped it over to see if there was any residue left and there wasn’t. It actually removed everything with just water. After using Face Halo for a week, I’m now a convert. And not just for travel. My skin has never looked better.

These disks are groundbreaking. They’re like a cross between a  plush washcloth and a Magic Eraser. With just water, they magically deep clean your skin, but somehow do it in a way that feels less abrasive than a face scrub.

The disk is filled with millions of tiny fibers, aka HaloTech fibers, that reach down into the pores to remove makeup, dirt and oil while the water breaks down the grime the skin. You get a truly clean and exfoliated face.

When you’re done, you just throw your Face Halo in the wash with white or light colors. You can even put it in the dryer, but only if you don”t use fabric softener, which will reduce the effectiveness. If you’re traveling and don’t have access to a washing machine, you can just wash the disk with soap and water and let it dry. Face Halo says the disks are good for up to 200 machine washes.

Face Halo sells in 3-packs for $22, which gives you 600 washes before replacing them. You’ll save money on cleansers or those expensive disposable face wipes, be much more eco-friendly, have less to pack when traveling, and have better skin. Genius!
