The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, which combines cool science and history exhibits aboard the historic aircraft carrier Intrepid in New York City, kicks off the first week of August with a week-long Space and Science Festival. It’s a perfect time to take a Day Trip to the museum if you haven’t visited yet.
One of the highlights of the theme week is two performances of the original show Moon Shot by Chicago’s Theater Unspeakable, which will be performed beneath the Space Shuttle Enterprise on August 4 and 5.
Moon Shot tells the story of the early days of America’s Space Exploration program in a really unique and funny way. Seven actors squeeze onto a stage nearly as tight as the original Mercury capsule and using only their bodies and their voices, bring to life a thrilling time in space exploration. Encompassing everything from the Cold War to Sputnik, from Yuri Gagarin to Neil Armstrong, this action-packed show bring tongue-in-cheek humor to a whole new atmosphere.
Thanks to the generosity of The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, Playground is giving away 4 tickets to one of the hour-long performances of Moon Shot — August 4 at 8 pm or August 5 at 8 pm (a $100 value). Note: The show is best for ages 5 and up.
