#TravelTuesday Q&A: Spring Break Sweet 16

Spring Break

Q: Hi Playground: Do you have any ideas for a sweet 16 trip for late April spring break? It will be four of us: My daughter and her friend and me and the other mom. The girls want somewhere warm with a beach and other kids their age and we’d be there 3-4 nights. The girls are interested in Atlantis, the moms were hoping for something not quite as hectic. ~ Thank you! Shari S.

A: Hi Shari, Love the idea of a destination Sweet 16 spring break trip; that should be fun!

How about Beaches Turks and CaicosThey age level the property so you never see the little kid stuff there, but they still have water slides and water sports plus all sorts of teen lounges and clubs, including the Scratch DJ Academy and the teens-only Beach Shack. I’ve had two friends go with teens (girls and boys) in the last year and came back raving about what a good time they had. It’s also all-inclusive, which makes it a more relaxing vacation for you instead of having to pull out your wallet constantly.

The Cascade Pool at The Reef and The Cove, Atlantis

If the girls have their heart set on Atlantis, consider booking a room at The Cove or The Reef, this will give you a grown-up respite from some of the all-day waterpark action and also provide access to the exclusive Cascades pool, which is only available for use by guests of these two plush hotel towers. You could even book a two-bedroom suite, which would be a lot of fun for your birthday girls.

Another option is the Windjammer Landing in  St Lucia, an all-inclusive property on a beautiful island beach. It offers a range of fun water sports, tours, and activities. Plus it has a dedicated teen program with all-day programming that should make the girls happy.

Happy travels!
