Q: I’d love some advice on nice, kid-friendly hotels in Montreal and Lake George. Thanks! ~ Montclair Mom
A: Hi MM! Sounds like you might be getting ready for a road trip up through Lake George in New York State to Montreal, Quebec, from New Jersey — my family actually took that same trip a few summers ago and had a fantastic time.
In Lake George, we stayed at The Sagamore and enjoyed every second of our time at this historic hotel set on it’s own island right on Lake George. There’s a huge, multi-tiered outdoor pool, plus a roped off section of lake for swimming that my son, Aidan, couldn’t get enough of.
Montreal is a fabulous family destination, and we loved the quaint European feel of the Old City as much as we did the museums and activities of the new part of town. Le Westin Montreal straddles the border of the old and new parts of the city, so it’s a perfect location to take advantage of all the city has to offer.
This, however, isn’t why your kids will love it. What is, is the glass bottom pool where they can dive down and wave at the cars as they pull into the hotel’s entranceway– look up when you pull in and you’re sure to see some little person waving down (so cool!)
