Add this to our list of Presidents’ Day family getaways and day trips! Between February 15 – 20, Kids Week takes over at The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum. Families with kids of all ages will love this museum located aboard the aircraft carrier Intrepid, a National Historic Landmark in New York City.
Kids Week is chock full of immersive activities, live performances, demonstrations, hands-on workshops, and special guests. Plus, all of it is free with museum admission!
As part of this year’s “Extreme Environments” theme, families can: Learn how NASA researches Earth’s climates to understand our planet and prepare astronauts for space travel; meet real scientists and learn how robots are designed for space exploration; get an up-close look at animals well-adapted for life in extreme conditions; enjoy eye-opening shows in a pop-up planetarium; discover the wonders of the chilly polar ice caps, distant exoplanets, and the fascinating places in between!
Each day of Kids Week will also feature special guests and award-winning children’s book authors, interactive displays, and opportunities to learn about our amazing universe! See the full schedule here.
