WINNER: Congratulations to Krissy!
Whether you’re driving across the country or just down the road, good music the whole family loves makes any trip better. That’s why we’re loving the soon-to-be released Bon Voyage by Jazzy Ash. Her new CD takes the whole family on a Crescent City inspired, jazz music adventure.
Jazzy Ash, aka Ashli Christoval, grew up with a mom from New Orleans and a dad from Trinidad. Music infused her home life every day, from jazz to Caribbean rhythms to the lively children’s music which was playing all the time for the kids in her mother’s home day care. She often spent summers in New Orleans with her aunts and grandparents, enjoying the culture and music. This mom to two boys now lives in Orange County, California.
Bon Voyage features gypsy jazz, zydeco, swing, blues, and Dixieland to encourage kids and their grown-ups to celebrate the music of New Orleans as part of the American folk music heritage. The album is the next best thing to marching down Bourbon Street. Jazzy Ash’s cover of the Louis Armstrong classic “Heebie Jeebies” is in #1 rotation on SiriusXM Kids Place Live radio and it deserves it. Check out the jazzy tune here and we’re sure you’ll agree. The other stand out song is “Firefly”, a swingy jazz tune that has an Ella Fitzgerald vibe.
Bon Voyage will be available from various retailers and JazzyAsh.com beginning on July 28 ($12.97 CD, $9.99 digital – Leaping Lizards Music), but today Playground has a copy to give away to one lucky reader!
